Regency Honors Black History Month

Black History Month is a time to reflect on our nation’s history, learn from our ancestors’ actions and gain a deeper understanding of our own historical legacies.

To recognize Black History Month, Regency Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center hosted Rosalyn Green who presented “The 1619 African American Story.” The educational demonstration told the story of the first African-Americans to land on what would become the United States of America. She shared details of their journey to current day Hampton, Va. and the challenges faced as they fought to obtain their freedom. Our residents were also able to review a list of surnames from the original group of African-Americans to first arrive in America for possible familial connections.
